Rigid Body Object With Spline Dynamics

Hi

I have created a swinging rope with spline dynamics and I have attached a cube at the end of the rope using the "align to spline" tag.

The motion is very natural and the cube follows the spline very naturally, and this is exactly what I want.

My problem is I want to make the cube a rigid body and make it collide with a collider object.

Simply adding a rigid body tag won't work.

I have really searched around for an answer but I couldn't find one.

Is there a simple solution for this or is xpresso needed?

I can't believe nobody knows how to solve this? :(

Maybe it can't be done this way? But surely it must be possible to achieve this effect in cinema 4D?

If anybody knows a different approach please point me in the right direction.

Hi!

One of my first posts here. I'm still learning and was just searching around here to find some inspiration on how to make like a wooden sign hanging in chains. And stumble upon your post.

Anyhow, I don't know if you solved you're problem? Would be great to hear about if so.

If no, take a look at this. Don't know if this is near on what you were looking for!? It's not 100%, but maybe could be for some help.

Take care!

Maybe could you try to add the primitive (having to be a rigid body) into a cloner (or eventually a fracture object) and use a Spline effecor linked with your spline path. Using the Offset parameter (Effecor Tab) can drive the move along the path...

But you wrote about a cube "attached" to a moving spline...

File setup is far to be perfect....

Thanks for the replies. I actually "solved" it but forgot to post the results.

I used a spring and the behaviour is very close to what I wanted.

Here is a better way (than my first post)

Dynamic object and "Shadow" dynamic object with Hair Collider
