TP soft body collisions work around

I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get soft body collisions using TP?

The only thing I found that comes close are the principles in this max tutorial:

http://www.community.ro/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=35&Itemid=54

Scroll down to: Thinking Particles 06 Jelly

Although I imagine if you had lots of particles who were themselves constructed from particles it would just crash the computer?

My TP is fairly basic but really trying to avoid cloth as I would like a particle solution.

I guess a translation of the vimeo TP set up into xpresso solution would be a good start if anyone's up to it??

Essentially i'm talking about particles with cloth like dynamics.

Really appreciate any ideas on this, cheers guys.

Hi,

I'm trying to animate some text by dropping it onto a floor were it will bounce a couple of times. I set up the cloth and collider and it all works apart from the all important bounce at the moment the text disintegrates every time it hits the floor. I've try to adjust the stiffness values and still get the same problem, could someone please give me some direction on what I need to do.

Thanks

All right so I've been trying to make an animation fo something looking like a ghost
Where theres a plane on the floor and it pulls up and uses the cloth hide tag to simulate the windy movements
Using a regular cube for a head

But the plane won;t obey key frame animation with the cloth tag
And won't even move using the move tool sometimes
i have fixed points right in the middle of the plane not too big
And I'm using pretty much all of it's default settings but self collision is on

Anyone know how to help me?

wrapping a grid around a sphere - cloner object and wrap deformer

Hi everyone.

Working on a project at the moment where I've been asked to wrap an array of video screens around a sphere. I've been using the mograph cloner object to create multiple instances of my screen which is a plane object and using object mode, assigning a sphere to the cloners object properties parameters.

Looks great - the problem is that the screens need to bend and follow the curvature of the sphere rather than just being flat and stuck onto the polygons or vertices of the sphere object - I've tried wrapping a straight grid cloner object around a sphere using the wrap deformer but only seem to be able to affect the geometry of the clones rather than the entire array.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

MoGraph and Boole overlap problem.

Im trying to create the effect of balls punching through a wall and letting light through. I need them to increase controllably and appear random in the shape of a certain object.

Right now I have a cloner object increasing clones in a plane that causes a cutout in the plane via the Boole. I get times where it overlaps and creates polygons which is not what I want. I tried to remedy this by putting two cloner objects in a boole with a union and that fixes it for objects that intersect in the two different objects but does not when clones on top of each-other from the same cloner object.

Im hoping someone can help me out. I am open to other methods of doing this. I am still fairly new to C4D so I am sure there are better ways to go about this.

Take a look at these screen shots to get a better idea of what I am talking about.

Thanks!

TP emission problem

I have seen the answer to this before but I can't get the right words into the search engine for it to come up.
The problem is a fast moving emitter sending out particles in small bursts instead of a nice steady but random stream. It's like the emitter is pulsing the particles out. I am pretty sure it's something to do with sub frame calculations but I don't know where to access anything like that.
Cheers

[another] calendar issue

Well... it's not about that, that I got older few days ago ;)
I'm working on pages falling off calendar. My plan is pretty simple:
- take a plane and animate it with bend deformer
- put this plane into cloner [with Mograph dynamic tag set to "velocity peak"]
- animate plain effector so the planes fall one by one
- have a beer and enjoy
Unfortunatelly I can't have my beer, 'cos if I bend a plane too much, althought planes don't touch each other, they collide and explode instead of falling [see attached file]
Thanks in advance for any info, how to solve this
