hair without hair module

Hi, I've been trying to find a way to get hair or fur on my stuffed animal model. I don't have the hair module and the cost of it is out of my price range. I know nothing I can do will equal the results I would have gotten with Hair. Was curious if there is a work around, like maybe a way to export my model into blender and give it hair and somehow get it back into c4d with everything intact and able to render? I'm relatively new to c4d, and almost never used blender. Would appreciate any help.-me

Interface and Tabs

I'm finally getting around to customising my interface in C4D. I liked the "Modeling Layout" so I decided to incorporate that into my own layout in the form of a tab, to save space.

My question is: Am I able to add another palette, in this same tab (see below), so that I can have the selection tools in there also...

PS. I don't want them to be apart of the same palette because then the icons will all have to be the same size.

Samples

What's the definition of min and max samples? (You see it in lights, GI, etc...)

In the help file, it says that increasing the max samples in the shadow parameters makes the shadow less grainy and that the min samples shouldn't be too close to the max.
Does this mean that the lower the min sample number the better? What are these numbers affecting with regards what I am looking at on my render.

Long time C4D user, never really asked the question.

C4D Interlace Problem

Hey guys,!

Hoping someone can help with this query.
I am importing HD viz (pro res hq, 29.97 fps) onto a projector in C4D.

When in C4D, there is a huge interlacing problem with the viz.

The way we solved it was to import the original viz into after effects, and then when outputing we adjusted the render setting to "upper field".

Does anyone know if there are settings in C4D, or settings the editors can use in final cut to avoid the step of importing the edit into after effects to re-render before dropping it into C4D?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!.

Thanks very much.

Weird Hiccup in the Camera Animation

I am doing an animation with a camera rig. For some reason, the camera makes a small jump that is completely off from what I animated. It starts at frame 42 and peaks at frame 50 before it continues on normal course. I figure it has something to do with the pitch of the rig but I made sure the animation curve was smooth and it still does it. Can anyone help me out?

Sorry for uploading the full project. I know its a mess but I didn't want to leave anything out.

Best way to measure camera to object distance?

Hi,

I am trying to set up the depth of field on a camera and would like to find out the distance between the camera and various objects in the scene so I can set the DOF as required.

Does anyone know of a method or any plugin that would do this measurement please?

Cheers,
