Objects as Lights?

I'm making a "futuristic" hall way and I wanted to make the floor have floor lights in a Hexagon shape. So I used the hexagon spline and I extruded it and made them into the pattern I wanted. Now I want to put them into the floor as floor lights. How can I do that?
P.S. I turned the extruded spline into it's own object.

Help with mapping a texture around a surfboard?

Hi all,

Was hoping someone could help/show me how to properly map a seamless texture around a surfboard. I've tried a few different mapping techniques, including UVW, but no success.

Attached is a ZIP that includes the model and a test texture.

I appreciate the help!

Hello all - Does anyone know if there is a shader that will gradually get darker as it gets closer to an edge? For example if you had a cube each face would be bright in the center then falloff to darkness towards the edges and corners.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi all:

I have a material with a gradated alpha applied. It works fine except when I have a softbox light pass behind the object with said material applied. For some weird reason, wherever the light is behind the object, the object appears white. NOT gradated to invisible. Can someone think of what might be wrong?
Thanks.

Vray Glass - high transparacy

Please could someone help me? I've a bathroom scene and I need a glass with high transparency but I can't get the desired result. I get glass with no transparency or either glass that have some transparacy but it looks like a mirror also :O I don't get it what I'm doing wrong, I just need simple glass like it's in window or something. In the attachment are two glasses I used (tinted glass, either second one I think should be transparency, but when I render it it's actually not, I can see only some blurred object behind it and also a mirror image and with tinted class it's a completely mirror :(( ). I tried also to play with the options but I can't get the high transparency to work. Thanks for any advice

I have searched the web for some advice but I can't find anything ... I'm just trying render image again and again with different options but I can get the transparacy glass :(

Leather material

Greetings to all.

I was wondering if anyone could offer an opinion on this. I've been trying to recreate the faux-leather look in the attached image for a while now, mostly to no avail. I've been starting with a Voronoi 3 noise generator (with the high clip set rather low- anywhere from 15% to 35%) pushed through a distortion shader, with a second noise generator as the distorter- and I can *almost* get something usable as a bump map or displacement map, but it's never quite there. The base layer (color, diffusion, specular, etc) is simple enough to construct. It's the bump map (or displacement) layer that's killing me here. It's almost like Veronoi 3 is too "perfect" for the job.

Does anyone have any suggestions for recreating this texture procedurally in C4D?

Cheers,

Weird shading facet?

Hi There,
I have come across an odd shading area that I am finding difficult to correct, it shouldn't happen because I have no erroneous edges but for some reason it keeps showing up, any thoughts on how to correct this?

Here you can see the error.

Here is the mesh, you can see that there is no edge creating the shading problem.
