C4D Cafe Forum Terms & Rules

Please take a moment to review these rules detailed below.

AFTER VALIDATING YOUR ACCOUNT BY RESPONDING TO THE VALIDATION EMAIL ALL NEW MEMBERS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY APPROVED BY THE ADMIN STAFF - PLEASE BE PATIENT.

Your account will be declined if you:

Excessive use of capital letters. johnCMYK for example is not acceptable
Use a member name that can't be pronounced in English
Use an inappropriate member name or stupid name
Use a 3 or 4 letter acronym for your name e.g. WPH
Use a joke email address e.g. 123456789@yahoo.com
Don't fill in what version of C4D you running
Don't fill in what modules you have e.g. TP, AR, Mocca, Hair, MoG.
Your IP address is listed on known spammer lists and or your IP address appears on a list where your computer is infected with a spam sending virus or trojan
Have attempted to sign up multiple accounts

The C4D Cafe is a free site dedicated to the free sharing of knowledge about CINEMA 4D, BodyPaint, other MAXON Products, plugins, tips, tricks, and techniques. We share all manner of information, demo files, animations, and just generally have a great time learning.

The Cafe is presently a free site supported by member donations and ad space. What we would ask is that members consider making a donation of $10 for every 10 tutorials that you download. This will help pay for the huge amount of bandwidth that we use.

This is a PG rated site. Please keep all posts "family friendly". Unacceptable posts include any considered to be: illegal, unethical, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, unnecessarily negative/attacking, and the like. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately via the personal message system or by the "Report this to a moderator" button. Remember that messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of the C4D Cafe or its owner.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have acquired the right through contact with the copyright holder. The C4D Cafe retains and enforces its copyright on the tutorials that we produce. They are for your personal use only and may not be sold, bundled with products, or distributed without the prior consent of the C4D Cafe staff. We encourage you to tell others about the Cafe and link them to our site. Hot linking to downloadable objects on this site is expressly forbidden without prior consent.

In addition the following rules apply:

* No remote hosting of images please. We've got image upload facilities. That gives members the option to click on thumbnail and look at the larger image if they want. Remotely hosted images force everyone to to have to wait for the images to download. You are welcome to post links / urls to animations, files and images. Update: We will now allow Youtube and similar type videos to be embedded within forum posts. Use the "media" BB tags to surround the link to the movie. Videos must be 3D related. We do not want to see this being being abused by members embedding funny videos.

* Please take the time and search the forums before posting your questions.

* Members are expected to read the descriptions of the different forum sections and post in the most appropriate section.

* Gallery album names should include the member's nick name.

* Keep thread descriptions and titles informative. Avoid titles such as "Urgent"

* No signature images. Members are welcome to have a one line text message that contains a link to your web site or home page (but not a direct link to an image or movie). Text formatting is not allowed on signatures. Members can also upload their own avatar at 100x80. These must not contain anything offensive and the Cafe reserves the right to require these to be changed or removed. Maximum avatar file size 17kb please.

* No obscene language.

* Member names must be written with English characters. We also reserve the right to delete or change members names that we find inappropriate. Names like "xx12ytrstykjxx" are unacceptable. The name must be able to be pronounced.</b> Member names cannot be all in Capitals. Only the first letter should be a capital.

* No posting of pornography or images that contain nudity (or links to same) in either the forum or gallery. This is a family and young people friendly site. Images portraying graphic violence are not permitted. The Cafe admin staff and moderators will be the sole judge of what is acceptable and what is not.

* Max image size for the gallery is 1280 x 1024. For the forum, please try to keep images no more than 1280x1024 if at all possible and less than 400kb. Please compress images (jpg, gif). The maximum file size for forum uploads is 1mb. Please zip up c4d scene files over 100kb. Please note that c4d scene files compress a lot. The gallery is not the place to post WIP images or CEL renders. Post WIP images and CEL renders in the WIP forum.

* Scene files, resources uploaded to the downloads section must be your own work and not copied from somewhere else. By uploading you're putting your material in the public domain. If you don't want your resources being used for commercial use, then you need to include terms and conditions.

* Personal attacks and racial slurs will not be tolerated. The Cafe is home to members from all around the world and from many different cultures. Please be mindful of this when posting.

* The C4D Cafe will not tolerate warez / piracy and spam etc. Members abusing this will be banned immediately.

* While the Cafe is a news site for Cinema 4D and MAXON products, unsolicited advertising in our forums is not permitted. Contact the admin if you want your product or site promoted here.

* Please refrain from excessive capitalization of words, excessive punctuation and formatting.

* Topic bumping not permitted. If you don't get any replies take a look at your message. Perhaps you haven't written it very clearly.

* The Cafe admins reserve the right to delete any message or image without having to provide a reason however we will provide it in most cases

* The Cafe logo cannot be used in anyway as part of your avatar. The only usage of the Cafe logo is as a link back image from your web site.

* Have fun and share your knowledge. We can learn from each other. Give constructive critique and take suggestions with good heart.
