Image Plane In Cinema 4d

Hi, I tried to google it and search it in the forum but not luck, in Maya there is somthing Called "Image Plane" this allow you to use a image as a background in a Camera. just wondered if cinema 4D have something Similar

Yep, it's called a background object and it's in the menu where your lights are. When you apply your picture it will be placed on the background as a frontal projection. Then you want a floor object, that needs to be lined up with the ground of your image. On this you place a compositing tag, frontal projection no tiles. On the tag you tick compositing.

A foreground object can be used to place elements of the image in front of your 3d object. Say you have a lump of hedge on your image, keep that in photoshop and remove the rest of the picture and save with an alpha channel.

One thing, you can't use gi with a background object, so use ao instead. You can place your background image on a curved surface and then use gi if you want. Kiwi has a tutorial on setting this up.

its not as full featured as maya's image plane.

but go to the viewport menu "Edit/Configure..." then in attributes go to the "Back" tab and load image (you cant load in perspective view)
