I love the brain in a jar. Wish I'd thought of that!

I've been told he looks like quite a few people Bigbot, the most popular one seems to be my daughter. Personally my mad scientist is better looking!!

Love that brain in a jar Karen, it's wicked.

Man, that brain in a jar is so cool. I wish that was my alarm clock.

Some more WIP shots. Close to done with the modeling and then a bunch of texturing work. I put a couple figures in the close up shot for scale reference.

I think I may have some ideas to reuse and improve a character I've used before, we'll see if I have time :D

Well this looks like a good subject to get me back into C4D. I knocked out an Ehrlenmyer flask just to get started.

I finally found a decent scientist model that I could use. Been playing around with the new Character tools in R13 at work to work with it. Interesting stuff. Makes me think I should learn more CA stuff.

Karen, I love your brain. I tried making one a few times, both in C4D and Zbrush, but haven't got the hang of it yet.

I want to get something together for this challenge, but my work schedule is crazy for the next 2 weeks, so I'll have to see how things go. I like the theme of the challenge though.

Karen - rather than modelling a scientist (though I spose you could just whazz one up in Poser) have you thought about mounting a pair of eyes on the brain, and concentrating on making that the main thing ? You could add wires and stuff too.

As much as I admire the character modelling on show from everyone who has done one, I was hoping we'd see some properly derranged evil old mad science lunatics - Jim's is closest, for me, but would be good to see some properly warped, scary professor / surgeon types. I'd do one myself if my modelling skills were up to it, which they're definitely not

Harrison, does your cage need some more bars ? - if I was that rabbit, I'd be outta there by now, and they wouldn't be stopping me.

I actually thought about that, adding wires going into the brain,, but I haven't thought of giving it a pair of eyes,,hmm,,cool idea:P,, and I like the idea of a more evil, menacing sort of professor,,
my model right now needs too much work to be of any use, the hands are all messed up, so Im gonna do another couple of them, models, to see where it leads me,

and Water; my brain is really just two modified spheres with a subpoly displacement texture, no big modeling achievement there, :)

Karen if at one point you wouldn't mind posting your displacement setup for the brain, I'm sure people would appreciate it.... :)
