Interesting idea for a challenge. Not got time for it myself, but will keep an eye on things.

Nigel, I've made sure Lewis is aware of your message, and given him a good clip round the back of the head for it.

Have fun everyone.

Well, I won't be entering of course as I'm one of the judges, but I thought of a little gag and knocked this up for fun in about 10 minutes. Clearly I broke the rules a bit as I stretched the can but it needed to be taller to suit the look I was trying to get ; )

Cheers,
Brian

Send me a crate of CG Juice http://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

In fact members can stretch the can if they want to. That then gives them a 500ml can rather than the 330ml can that I modelled.

Well done Lewis. Don't forget to enable or use a HyperNurbs object to smooth the can. Note, we don't need the wireframe render. It's my modelling!!

Cool competition, since I am from bavaria I am going for an bavarian-styled look.

The lady (photos are not permitted I guess?) is just a placeholder, since I'm trying to think of an own logo :)

Great work everyone.

Poodles - one of your image attachments was far too large.

if anyone is wondering why the can model renders slower than frozen beer pours, the file comes up with physical render turned on in r13...switch to standard and things will speed up

btw, is physical render not multi-threaded? I only show two threads when it engages and I usually show 4 on my 2 x 2 xeon machine. Switch to standard renderer and 4 threads come back up

thx

physical render not multi-threaded?

Yes it is. Don't confuse buckets displayed with number of threads. It's using all cores.

Here's my first draft. Been having a great time with it so far :)

There's no type yet, as I haven't decided on a name yet, but eventually I'd like to place it in a faux-advertisement.

Keep up the good work guys :)
