Hello,
I am trying to find how the Uv mapping works but I really have difficult time. I have seen many tutorials but still I think I miss the main logic behind it.
I want to unwrap a pottery - amphoreas so that I can put the texture later.
Can someone tell me exactly where I have to put the scenes and step step by step what I need to do.

I have a picture of an amphorea.

Thank you very much

Not something that can be easily answered in a few paragraphs hence the lack of replies. If you want to learn UV mapping and Bodypaint then I suggest investing in my Bodypaint tutorials.

I can whole heartedly endorse 3DKiwi's Body Paint DVD, it has every thing you need to know in using Body Paint.

would it be possible to give me some suggestion of what is the best method to use for this object?  How to start.

I suggest you watch the free sample video from my BP tuts. This shows me unwrapping an object amongst other things. You got to create edge selections to define different UV islands. You then follow that by a frontal projection, then an LSCM unwrap and then a realign. Simple!!

Hello,
thank you very much, I am already watching your tutorials and they are very nice, together with many other things I have watched the last weeks, But still when you are in the beginning things look very messy and you don't know how to apply the knowledge you get to a bit different things from the ones you see.
I will follow your directions, thank you I appreciate your effort and help.
