Hi everyone. What a cool challenge

We had lots of great looking smilies and we'll definitely be using some of them. For the time being I've loaded up all of UFOGoldorak's smilies and the 2nd and 3rd place smilies. This has meant that some of the previous smilies have had to be retired.

The winner of this challenge was clearly UFGoldorak. This member submitted 10 different Smilies and all were really good. We chose the the winking smiley as the best but a couple of others could easily have won as well.

The winners are:

1st Place - UFOGoldorak

2nd Place - TheJimReaper

3rd Place - James Leaburn

Honourable Mentions:

Frames
Pacolla (Both entries

Challenges are hold while we run the 1 on 1 Basketball Animation Contest :wackywink:

You're too quick. I was copying and pasting code to display a swf file. Too hard for me to remember.

Yay, 2nd place. Well done to UFOGoldorak and James, and to everyone else that took part, there really were loads of cool entries, and it's really cool to have them available to use too!

Nigel, you may want to take a look at the flash image in your post, as it scrolls through all three winners, the writting at the bottom only shows '1st Place UFOGoldorak', it doesn't give the names of the 2nd or 3rd place winners when their entries are shown. It's the same on the homepage post as well.

Regards

Jim :)

I would like to give a big thanks to James Leaburn, without you this would not have been possible. My wife and kids for supporting me through the past 2 and a half hours. My makeup artist, this ones for you Cerbera's Reindeer!! The full cast and crew of the C4D Cafe for a wonderful script and last but not least my fans around the water cooler. You 2 guys give me the courage to inner extrude 2 polygons at a time.

I'm not gonna lie, this was a tough one! Between the one bevel and the extrude I stayed up all 5 minutes of the night slaving away. Poly count got out of hand around 20, so I added 256k or ram and kept chugging along. Did not think I was gonna make the dead line. Then I remembered what TheJimReaper once told me. If you build it, they will come. So I put on my Rocky sound track, ordered a pizza and I added that HyperNurbs.

Well done everyone this was fun, it's gonna be cool looking at these all over the forum!

:)

I'd had a long day at work and my brain wasn't functioning. Look now.

No worries Nigel, I've had plenty of those days myself recently.

Thanks for the comps guys, I thought you had a pretty good idea with yours James, the amount of times I forget to add an image or an attachment I'm suprised someone hasn't come up with a smiley like that before.

I did think of doing a forgot file smilie but I couldn't think of anything that would work at such a small size. I'm still thinking though.
If in doubt, scream and shout.

Here's a smilie I did for my grandson when he saw the McSmilie. He wanted something with a beard.
Beardie0288.jpg

Once he saw the beard he went off on one with his crazy little mind so I got him to do it again and recorded him. The animation is lousy because I had to keyframe to the patience of a four year old.
Anyway here is the insanity

.
If in doubt, scream and shout.
