Alpha Channel On Animated Texture Keeps Randomly Turning Into Black W/ Gray Spots In Viewport

See title. I am working with an animated tiff sequence on a plane with an alpha channel. The plane is parented to the camera. As I set keyframes for other objects in the scene, at random points the alpha channel will suddenly turn into a low-res looking black with grey dots. I cannot undo this once it happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this in the viewport or the final rendered result?

Any chance you can upload a screen grab of the problem?

Hi Kiwi.

I have concluded that it's probably a graphics card issue with heavy scenes. I have a mid range Nvidia which while adequate can sometimes affect things like this.

Another possible problem was that I had a texture tag on the layer. Removing that made the dots vanish. Every so often they will return if I am scrubbing through a heavy part, but again that just goes back to the card issue. Soloing the layers helps.
