Hi folks,

I am using a very simple mograph setup and have a question regarding the shader effector.  I have a grid array with planes in a 1x10x10 configuration, fine.  I added a step effector to get a particular shape, fine.  I then added a shader effector and set the shading -> shader to a 2d v gradient, fine.  I see what I want, the gradient itself is fully saturated (black 0 to green 255).  However, the result on the mograph object is some where near 50% desaturated.  My question is why and the follow up is am I going about this wrong?  What I am after is the array from bottom to top, black to bright green regardless of the effect of the step effector.  Thanks.

Jeff

Scene file would help, but is use Alpha/strength disabled in shader effector?

Cheers

Here you go.  The shading of clones has always confused me.  Thank you.

I have been studying the differences between the original file (R13) and this new on in R14 and I cannot see any.  Wish list:  document diff.  There are so many settings, it's very hard to find that needle in the hay stack.  Humm....   I know a  little python.

Also, in the name of thought, it's acting like the texture space is bigger than the grid array if that makes sense.  If it does, I certain forgot how to adjust this.

The shaders confuse me just as much. So I try to solve what I run across...this helps me work out what goes on.

I think the shader effector in this case is not needed. I removed it, a added a luminance shader instead.

I am using luminance so that you can see that the colors are pure....no lights interacting.

Also used the projection mapping on to the cloner, and fix texture under the cloner object tag is set to straight. This keeps the gradient stuck in place.

Just one way to do it i guess. BTW, I added a background so the black on the object was defined better, and a camera to retain your original framing.

Good luck
