Time effector
For once we get an effector with very few settings!! This effector generates animation without setting any keyframes. It has the normal transform parameters of position, scale and rotation along with colour. If you set up some transformations then the objects that the effector is applied to will be transformed over the total duration of the animation. e.g. set up rotation of 360 degrees. The animation is 300 frames long. Start the animation and the objects will rotate 360 degrees over the 300 frames.
The action gets really interesting when you change the fall off type and animate the effector moving across the object it is influencing (by the way with this effector and other effectors, an alternative is to move the cloner or other objects through the effector). You then can achieve some very fluid and smooth looking transition effects. And since this is CINEMA 4D and the 4 stands for the fourth dimension - time, we can make time go backwards by tweaking the spline graph. Time travel - awesome!!
Here's a little fun animation. The only thing that is animated is the strength of the weight on the falloff tab. The spline graph is bell shaped so we get animation going forwards in time and then backwards.
