I have only scratched the surface of what Poser can do. It has it's own cloth, hair and face rooms. As you might expect with clothing and hair you can animate it to react to the figure moving around. The only problem with dynamic cloth and hair is that you can't export it to CINEMA 4D. By dynamic hair and cloth I'm referring to cloth and hair animated or simulated with dynamics.
Poser 7 has its own built in render engine called Firefly. This produces reasonable results but not as good as CINEMA 4D. It's also a lot slower at rendering than C4D. Here is what the basic default render settings look like. By dragging the slider all the way to the right you can increase render quality and time.

Let's see the result of using maximum settings under the Auto option.

There are further render settings by changing to the Manual option. Here you have more control over things.
One thing that is quite slick is as you do test renders you get a slider where you can transition from the current render to the previous render. Great for comparing lighting etc changes.
Poser 7 comes with heaps of documentation in pdf format. Probably just as well since there's a lot to learn. You get:
424 page reference manual
364 page tutorial manual
135 Python scripting manual
It's all pretty well written. Accompanying the tutorial manual are the supporting scene files. There's also a lot of tutorials, resources etc on the Internet.
