About this blog

A collection of plugins I created over the years to enhance my workflow for storytelling, and image creation in general.

Some are created for fun, others as a result of missing functionality I needed, or simply wanted to have.

C4DS plugins - R20 upgrade

Conversion of my plugins to R20 is completed.   I have recently informed existing customers of Seamilar and PolyGnome about the news, and am giving them now priority to upgrade. Soon I will make an official announcement here at the C4DCafe, after which everyone will be able to purchase Seamilar, PolyGnome and/or Dials. And this for R16 - R20, Windows and/or macOS.   Edit:   Plugins are now available at https://toolspixels.be   For a limited period of time plugins are at a 15% discount. (the order form at the website shows to original price, discount will be added on the invoice)

Texut

Texut is a plugin (based on several separate scripts I had) representing a set of utilities which I use in combination with my Seamilar and SPETI-n-TINA plugins to create materials using textures created in Substance Painter from Allegorithmic.   The plugin allows me to: - rename UVW tags by selection - create materials per UVW tag name, where multiple objects share the same UV space ... and thus use the same material. - group or squeeze the UVs of different objects onto a same canvas, or fit each object's UV on a separate canvas.

ColorID Mapper

ColorID Mapper was a utility plugin which allowed me to create masks for using in Allegorithmic Substance Painter. Combining multiple objects onto a single canvas and colorizing the UVs of every object with a different color allowed to select the different colors as specific masks. In the meantime I have learned to simply select the polygons of the different object while working in Substance Painter, making obsolete the extra step of creating colorID maps.   Dedicated thread: https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/91939-new-plugin-colorid-mapper

SPETI and TINA

SPETI and TINA are two utility plugins to import/update textures into existing materials, or create materials using textures. Assignment of the textures to the different channels of a material (color, ambient occlusion, ...) can be specified via presets.   SPETI was originally designed to import textures generated from Allegorithmic's Substance Painter, but its name did mislead quite a few users. Due to a change in Python functionality from R18 onwards, I decided to rename the updated version to TINA, and keep the original name for the R17 version.   Dedicated thread: https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/92673-speti-and-tina

Scroll2Object

Scroll2Object is a utility plugin. When plugin is enabled, selecting an object in the view port will automatically perform a "Scroll to First Active" in the Object Manager. The plugin can be enabled/disabled with the menu entry added right after the "Scroll to First Active" in the Object Manager's menu.   Dedicated thread: https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/103649-scroll2object

Seamilar - Enjoy UV unwrapping

Seamilar is a plugin for Cinema 4D R16, R17, R18, R19 available for Windows and MacOS, which allows to easily unwrap and edit UVs.
Included in the plugin is a specific UV View window allowing the visualization and editing of color-coded UV islands.   It contains a tool to create seams, which can be used in the 3D view port as well as in the dedicated UV View window. Next to this, the native Cinema 4D selection tools for edges can also be used to create seams. Basic move, rotate and scale tools are available to manipulate UV points, edges, polygons and islands. Snapping and quantization can be enabled as options. The move tool even has a snap-to-pixel option. Additional tools are made available to align the UV items, as well as pack islands. A multi-object mode is available, which allows to position and arrange multiple objects onto a single canvas. The UV View has 4 display modes, allowing to visualize the UVs in shaded, stretch, checker or texture mode.   Dedicated thread: https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/95805-seamilar-the-sequel   Comments, suggestions, ... please do so in the dedicated thread only, thank you.
