Sorry for nitpicking but I need detailed instructions or my mind is all over the place ...

Are we supposed to model the tavern, do we need to texture an existing model, do we need an exterior view, interior?

Description says 1 image, so I guess this is not about animating. What image size is required?

Sorry if this seems obvious for some, but my brains "don't compute" without specific instructions.

No worries. I was hoping for these kind of questions. Idea is that you go to Challenges and from there you check what contests are available. Once you open a contest, in this case we have only 1 running at the moment, so we can assume you will open that challenge and go through the story text. This section here is just to let you know that there is a challenge going on, everything else should be read from the Challenge section. Ill add a bit more info there like which resolution you should use etc. Feel free to give me another update if things are not clear enough.

It can be what ever you like, no restrictions on tone and style...etc.

How many images are allowed in the final entry? I know it says HD (1920x1080) but if you have a lot of details, a lot of that will get lost on that scale. Can we also add detailed shots in 1920 x 1080?

And just wondering: why do we need to upload the scene file? If it's for judging, I can understand to check some stuff out, but I'm not sure I'm really comfortable uploading the entire scene for everyone.

Well, idea was one render pet contender, but you can reupload the image up to three times in case you see competition doing things better and you want to improve. That seems to me fair enough.

Sorry, but I am not sure what do you mean exactly, do you have any suggestions about resolution?

Initially yes, it was meant to be for judging in case of vote results being the same, but also intention was to share things with others, I saw that as fair trade as we are giving away rewards pretty much for everyone, but I might overseen something. So I guess it can be on voluntary basis as I don't want to force anything people don't like. But all of that asset we would decide to share here would be of course with creator credits which is another nice exposure chance for artists. But it seems I was wrong, so its up to you if you want to share, I have no plans to go into further discussion about it. 🙂

Thanks for the reply Igor!

About the resolution: I meant 1 final render HD (an overall picture) and several close ups of that overall picture (in HD)

I have rendered this at 8000x4500px (because I'm getting it printed as a poster) and looking at the final at a 1920x1080 resolution on a 5K screen, it seems really small 😃

About the file: I'm comfortable uploading some models, but not the whole scene. I know how valuable these things are within the community for learning purposes (as I was there myself a long time ago =D)

As a "wink" to the C4DCafé I was planning on putting some texture on drink coasters.

We call these "beercards" (bierkaartjes).

(reference image "borrowed" from the internet)

@IgorWhat logo or picture am I allowed to use in order to refer to the C4DCafé? Do you have any available for this purpose?

They will end up probably pretty small, but it's still something I would like to incorporate into my work.

Thats nice idea @dast, but so far we do not have any official logo we like to use. We would like to find someone who would take time and create a nice logo which we would then use as our brand. Hopefully I found someone early next year. Right now you can use whatever you like and see fit.

Looking around I found these 2:

I will be using these, unless someone has any objection.

I am putting them here if that can inspire others to use them as well ... or to come up with alternatives.

Many years ago (2007 ?) I won a C4DCafé T-shirt.

I did wear it in quite some occasions. It still is in good condition, and still fits.

It did feature a different logo, back then. And I must say I don't dislike that one either ... but cannot seem to find it anywhere.

It must have been lost during the many forum server moves, or that major breakdown some years ago.

I could try to scan or photograph the T-shirt's logo, and share it here ... unless someone has it somewhere in his/her archives.

Well, what I can say is if anyone have any ideas of how logo should look like, I am very much open for suggestions. Maybe we could make that our next challenge. 🙂

We might even try making T-Shirts again. ☺️
