By 3DKiwiHere's a simple scene showing a volume light coming through a window.
By GuestAs I have put my architectural tutorial on hold for now I wanted to upload this
scene file for anyone that wanted to see how I set up the lighting & render settings.
I modeled everything so feel free to use the table & chairs in your own scenes.
Render time was 32 minutes on a mac pro 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Hope you like.
By RichartHi All,
Here is the very simple sunset file setup.
I used the DeGamma plugin to make it look as it is now.
Also I used the Real fresnel plugin on the water material. This free plugin you can find on the installation DVD of R11.

By RichartHi All,
Here is a simple Clay setup file.
It is made with R11 and AR3. You also need S&T for the wire setup.
You can use it without S&T but you won't be able to render out the wire setup.
By RPriceFollowing on from the forum thread, I threw together this GI Material Tester. The test model is based on the Greyscal Gorilla model.
Drop test materials onto the material tags on the nulls called Top and Base. The GI null includes user data to change the intensity and colour of the lighting. Intensity is 220 by default (which according to my calculations provides a nice even and nuetral light). You can go lower or off for testing light emitting materials, and should you wish you can use the input field to go higher than 220 if you want to overexpose your test.
The colour change just basically tints the HDR and the specular lights.
NB. If you just drop the materials onto the nulls and not the tags it won't work. Also, if you aren't in the editor view then changes to intensity and colour may not be reflected in the editor when you go back. They will, however, be reflected in the render.
Feel free to use it, change it, tear it apart or whatever else you want to do with it
By JLeaburnHere's a simple 3 point light set up with a few handy options. The only thing I've not been able to sort out yet is the lock rotations. Lock rotations doesn't set itself back to original position if you move the rotation sliders. I'll see if I can fix that soon. I'm no Xpresso genius and this is just cobbled together as I was going so it may not be perfect. See what you think.
This is an r13 file but I don't think there is anything in there that can't be done in earlier versions so open it up in R13 demo and you could build it yourself. It's relatively simple. If you spot any problems gives a shout.
