About This File

This is a 65 minute video tutorial of 3DKiwi playing around with some of the new dynamics toys in Release 12.

Since the videos contain a lot of things moving plus use a higher frame rate than normal the videos are large. To assist members the tutorial is split into 2 parts. Part 2 shows how to do the dynamics for some simple cars including how to use motors and suspension. Also included are the scene files created in the tutorials.

Download and extract the zip files. Play the mp4 video files with any video player that supports mp4's.

Have fun :)

Nigel... Buddy, thank you for putting all of this together. Your mini-tutorials are so clear and easy to understand! You should be posting your stuff to cineversity and billing MAXON. Your lessons are far more informative.

Just downloaded the demo for v12 and will be purchasing this week.

THANK YOU!

Nigel, you finally got your wish of some better Dynamics! I hope R12 is giving you what you've been looking for.

Nigel - these really are a godsend. As someone else said, congratulations for doing what MAXON should be doing themselves (given the hopeless state of their user manual) and for doing it so very well - again so much better than cineversity, and at extremely reasonable suggested prices. You have even avoided going down the advertising route (a la CG tuts), which is much appreciated. And whereas I rather resent giving Cineversity their somewhat exorbitant members fees (and in fact haven't and won't !) it is a pleasure to donate to you. Well done, Sir !

Marvellous! I've seen a couple of things explaining dynamics, but none as clear and easy to follow as this, and picked up a couple of tricks along the way. Thanks for the time and effort put into doing these and making them available.

Nigel,

When I drag the my truck body into object B, my connector jumps up about 100 units or so. I moved the truck axis point thinking it may be based on the truck, but I can't get past this point. It's fine for driving straight but obviously turning is a problem. BTW I have R14 Studio, but it won't update in my profile

Thanks,

Doug

Bro, thanks for the good tutorial. I am just beginner. Also, I tried to download dynamicpart2.zip file, but it kept asking me for the authentication required like user and password. I tried with my account, but it did not work. dynamicpart1.zip did not ask me anything but the second one did. Can you help me to download that file?

Thanks,

Tu Huynh
