Eevee is really awesome, the "new" C4D viewport looks already outdated.

if you got the hardware for it, that is ...

I don't have the hardware for it and no option to upgrade (Intel Mac)

what I do like is Cycles and even initially I didn't wanna buy into it but I got Cycles 4D in the end

last Blender developer built.... well, I couldn't do anything with Blender

guess you need the Nvidia Titan do move the default cube

A historic moment in Blender development: starting today left-mouse selection is now fully implemented! No more usability conflicts. :Bananeyessss:

Even a nice start-up dialog with the choice between left and right click select.

A few new Eevee demos for your viewing pleasure.

The new development demo:

...and just to show that Eevee isn't just about scifi scenes:

Artists around the world are getting into Blender's new Grease Pencil, and discovering innovative uses for it: sketch shapes in 3d space, export to Photoshop for finishing. Grease Pencil is in use for pre-production in feature movie creation as well.

Also, today the new ProRender 1.8 is released for Blender, Max, and Maya.

Blender's ProRender render viewport works very smooth now.

@vanderleden the Blender team is currently tackling low-end Intel and lower end Nvidia and AMD cards for Eevee to run on those. Remember, Blender 2.8 is still in alpha.

Blender is looking great.  Someone could definitely leave C4D for a combo of Blender and Houdini.  Blender has one of the best render engines, plus tools like retopoflow, and grease pencil.

This YanSculpts on Youtube is amazing at Blender sculpting.

C4D sculpting tools could be great if they would add dynamic meshing and some good retopo tools.  That is really all they would need to be on par with Blender sculpting.

Haha, Blender is amazing... They just screw it from the start when they choose to make the right click the default way to select things.

In C4D if you right click and hold you can select things.  I thought it was a nice feature.

Here's what I'm working on in Blender at the moment. Have to say I'm warming to Blender but it's modelling tools are still away behind C4D and Modo. However it handles a lot of stacked modifiers (deformers) much better than either C4D or Modo. The model makes heavy use of the shrinkwrap modifier where you have a hidden high res mesh. Then on top of it you have your mesh that you cut holes out of. By shrinkwrapping the lower res sub-d mesh on to the high res mesh you maintain correct curvature, something you often lose when Sub-d modelling.

Hmm, never heard of that.

Just tried it in component mode i.e. vertex, edge and polygon. You can select an element by holding the right mouse button down a bit. Not that useful I reckon. What would be more useful if things were like Modo where you select elements with the left mouse button as you do in C4D but right clicking defines where the modelling axis / action centre is.

If you have the patience, it would be cool if you could do a review of Blender 2.8.

I guess many like myself are thinking of switching (me possibly from Modo).
