C4d Visualisation VS C4d Prime

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm an architect and i would like to buy cinema 4d +vray to my office. But i saw the Prime is cheaper than Visualisation. One question I have is: comparing the 2 products: Prime and Visualize, it seems to me I can get away with purchasing Prime and VRay for now and getting 90% of the features I would get with Visualize for Arch Viz. Is this true?

Need help on this decision.

Many thanks

Visualize has a lot of things that are useful to architectural visualisation, though most of these come down to library objects and materials, the latter of which are mostly irrelevant to you if you are using Vray. I do know of several people who use prime + an external renderer to great effect.

You can compare which features are in which versions in a lot of detail here.

Lastly, I should say that MoGraph (broadcast / Studio versions only) is potentially very helpful in making anything that repeats, so fencing, specialist brickwork, flooring, roofing etc is all much faster if you have that. Also, Studio has the almighty hair system, compatible with Vray, that makes for excellent architectural grass.

My apologies if that has complicated things further rather than made anything clearer ! :)

  • thanks so much for the answer. Yes I use the vray...so textures, materials and cameras is not  a problem for me because i have from vray. The only problem that I'm seeing is the Team rendering....with prime i dont have :-(.

i started off thinking i didn’t need mograph, but quickly found out that its cloner tools are really essential. definitely for arch viz work. so i would not advise Prime. Also, i would consider Corona instead of V ray. And that is free while it’s still in beta!

I cannot recommend Mograph enough - I use C4d for architectural work (and vRay as my primary renderer). I cannot think of a single project I've done over the last five years where it hasn't saved me!

    My 5 cents.

    Cheers,
