Not affecting child with atom array

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have an extruded object from illustrator I want to child to a plane that is animated so it follows it but I have an atom array effecting the plane and when I child the extrude to the plane the atom array also affects the extrude is there a way of stopping this from happening so it only affects the plane.

That was a sentence and a half.

Thanks Guys!

Without diving in expresso, sure there is.

Make a NULL object, and make the Atom Array with the plane, and the extruded object a child of that plane.

Now you can move the Null and both will follow.

Make everything that is NOT atom array a child of the NULL, not of the atom array.

So make that Extrude a Child of the Null, not a Child of the Atom array.

"Just Jank It Out" as my mentor used to say. (translates in, carefully, left click and drag it out)

It is simple, if it is a child of the Atom, it will be looking like an Atom. So don't make it children, but make it Siblings (brother/sister).

Family can be complicated.. I know...

English is my first language - and I am a little lost.

There is a 'Stop' tag that might be of use to you.
