Filter out null selection from viewport

Question

Hi, i have setup for animation a complex scene with many objects, and i have all my nulls as boxes and ready for anim. However, i cant seem to find a way to select only the nulls direct from viewport. I wanna see everything in viewport, but being able to select only nulls. In 3ds max  used to work, there was this "filtering" and i could direct select in viewport only lights or geometry or nulls etc etc.
Is there a similar function in c4d? It would help tones. cheers

In the Object manager, at the top, find the little 'eye' icon (to the left of the little cross icon) and click that. That will give you a list of object types in your scene, and if you expand the list, and double click the null object there it should show you only the nulls in the scene in the OM main panel.

Select  menu-> Selection filters -> (disable all other things beside Nulls)

  • Thanks i know that, but thats not selecting from viewport. I wanna rule out anything in the viewport as selection (not seeing them, just not being able to select em)

Here you have 2 scripts. One enable null object only, second one enable all...Unzip file, open preference folder, navigate to library/scripts and put all 4 files there.

there is also attached small image how icons looks like. You can create your own if you wish. For scripts you can assign shortcuts also...
