Soft toon render?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm interested in replicating this style of rendering. (See Images)

They are from the Architecture Office, First office. You can find more here .

There's an inherent softness to these images, it might be because the background color is slightly offset from the foreground objects.

I've tried sketch and toon, but my images come out too flat, even after sampling the same colors. These images almost look suspended between both sketch and toon and a rendering. The other issue I am having is replicating the reflective material while having it still feel like a drawing.

If there is any advice, I'd love to hear it! I feel as if I've exhausted my resources with 2d shading tutorials.

Many thanks!

Have you tried rendering out image in c4d (simple materials, just color) and then using PS to adjust it?

Shadows and colors are visible, but less pronounced in 1st image... is it what you want to achieve?

You have plenty options in PS apart from stauration, curves... Color lookup and color overlay may help get what you want.
