How to Stop Bounce on Emitter Falling?

Recommended Posts

Here is my preview:

How to Stop particles after they land on the floor?

There is a collider body tag on the floor with the Friction=200% and bounce=10%.

in the riggid body tag on the particle the friction is = 100% and bounce is 10%

The speed of the Emitter is set to 10sm

Thanks!

When you say 'stop' do you mean halt movement and not roll away, or do you mean die and disappear ?

If it's the former you need to drain the energy form the particles, so add a friction particle force to the scene and set it to a suitable falloff so it only affects particles close to the ground. Also set bounce to 0.

Yes, I mean "not roll away".

    How to make "suitable falloff"?

The manual is your friend ! ;)

Falloff tab of the Friction Object - set to something like box or sphere.

I made it with the Friction, but they are still bouncing:

Is your friction in the forces list in the dynamics tag ? It needs to be (and set to include).  It's stopping them dead in their tracks for me...

I made Include on Collieder and on Riggid and set Strength to 500, they are slowing down but still rolling.

Turn strength up until they stop ! ;)

When I turn strength to 10.000 - they are starting bouncing

But I've tried turn Angular Damping to 100% and they stops at once

In my test scene, a value of 100 in Friction strength stopped them dead. But Angular / Linear damping will also do it, and would have been my second suggestion ! :)

I don't know. You haven't uploaded the scene file so we have nothing to go on.
