Weighting Clothes

Recommended Posts

One thing I have been doing is making a polygon selection tag for each piece of clothing, like the pants, shirt, tie as well as hands, head, feet. that way I can hide everything else while weighting and be more precise and see problems easier. Especially since I often add bones to a tie.

Thanks for that tip, sounds quite interesting!

If you want to keep the body in one piece you can also hide the polygons by using a Alpha map.

I use both this, and CBR´s method, depends on what I want to do with the model.

For your next model it's also good practice to model the whole thing as one piece, saves a lot of time.
