twist object on modelled hand

I have modelled a hand and I would like to use a Twist deformer on it.

 

However I am not sure how I can make it behave like the cube next to it (as you can see from the .c4d file). tubo 4.3.c4d

Not sure whats happening with the hand twist, but if you move the one from the cube over it seems to work fine.

Also the centre of your hand is a bit off, tho not sure that affects matters.
