Weight map propagation with fields?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if there is now an easier way to achieve vertex map weight propagation effects like this using fields?

It's looking like the old python tag of his no longer works and as amazing as it was at the time, it was a bit clunky.

Here's hoping fields will make this a simpler process.

Hi Visionlux,

Yes. The freeze layer has several grow options and also a subfield to control the look of the grow.

Fritz

I thought there was a grow option there but I couldn't find it. Do I have to enable something to see that option?

At the bottom simple example workflow...

when you create vertex map, let´s say with single point set to 100 weight, simply enable using fields inside weight tag. I think freeze layer will be added automatically. Set mode to grow, animate radius and you´re done. Yes, it´s linear flow of growing, but you can improve/randomize with subfields inside radius tab
