Render Queue with different takes

Recommended Posts

Hi guy,

I have several scenes to render, and each of the scenes has several takes mark for render.

Is it possible to use the Render Queue for this task ? I haven't found a way to tell the Render Queue to use the marked takes for render

I'm on R17.055 prime

Peace,

Kobi

What I do is save each take as its own file.  So, one file may be using camera 1, frames 200-300.  I'll save that as a file, making sure to properly name the output file.  I usually use the name of the save file.

Will all of the files I want to batch render open, I add each file in turn to the render queue.  Start the batch render and that's it.

Thanks, that will work, I hoped there's a simple solution since I have dozens of files to render....

Add all marked takes to the render queue is hidden under this button (see pic).

Adding all takes this way can take from a few seconds to minute or two depending on the scene (scenes with big cached data or lots of takes take longer).

Note that you may need to fix each file's save settings (before adding to the queue) because the queue doesn't work with relative paths, so output paths need to be absolute. I suggest using the "$take" token in the save filename to ensure each take is saved with a unique name. If all takes use the same  main render settings, or use settings that are a child of the main, then this is the only thing you need to fix (make sure the fixed path gets propagated to child settings). However, you will have to fix the save path for all takes that use different main/parent render settings.

If you know that all of the settings and paths are optimized, you can use 'Open With Marked Takes' instead, which skips the step of first opening the file.
