Stuck recreating something:

Recommended Posts

Just curious, how should I make the neck? Would it be a separate object? This design is far more complicated that models I've previously tried replicating.

I've already been able to make this, though it was my own design and I think my brain instinctively tried to avoid anything too complicated, now I'm trying to replicate something and my brain has reached an impasse:

The topology you have in the the saucer section is just not suitable for making the neck, so I suggest you just do it as a separate object at the saucer end. If that won't do, you will have to retopologize the whole disc (or a fair section of it) to make that possible.

The other end you can join to the supporting body because you can cut in the shape you need with the knife tool, something like below; your edge flow will probably support this...

Hope that helps
