hey café,

i would like to make a animation with gathering fabric,

the shape will be a tube, 1,5m wide, coming down from

a 2,6m high ceiling. i would like to also show the cords, that

are gathering the fabric,

any ideas?

Cinema's cloth system, I have to be honest and say, is not really up to this. Really you want Marvelous Designer here.

 

But if you do have to tackle it in Cinema, prepare for battle and you'll probably have to go about it by using a Cloth Belt tag on poly objects to anchor / control various strategically selected points on the cloth's base mesh. That way you can animate the objects and the cloth should follow. This can be a bit flakey in practice :/

thanks for advice, i tried out the belt stuff and had some problems,

i will check out marvelous designer or change my design, haha.

What Cerbera said.    This is a job for Marvelous Designer.    Not only because of the restraining cords,  but because the fabric in your picture buckles in a very attractive,  natural way,   that I'm not sure C4D Cloth can simulate.
