Fade Clone Visibility/Transparency

Recommended Posts

So I have some rings emanating from a Cloner. I want those rings to fade away when they reach a certain distance. I was able to get this one looking right using a circular gradient to fade it out, but when I bring it into the actual scene I need it in, the material just goes all over the place and I can never get close to this example. I was also experimenting with a Shader Effector and gradients, but I'm just running in circles now. Any tips would be appreciated.

  • OK I got it to work again. I were mostly right. Not the projection, but after I resized it to fit, I forgot to hit Fit to Object again. My method here was the Cloner had the material so it applied to the group of clones. I found this great tutorial from EJ, but it's for R12. I was hoping he could update it for R20 and Fields.
