Creating a "worn wood" texture

I'd like to apply a similar texture to some motext, but I've never really explored the creation of this sort of material. Any pointers would be very gratefully received.

I'll dig out the tutorial that shows you the complete workflow here, but basically you wanna use either Inverse AO or Vertex maps layered over a Levr noise, or 2 separate materials and alpha maps to define which material should appear where...

But here's the other one you might find an even quicker method !
