hello café,

i still don´t get the axes colors, actually i thought it is red x, green y and z blue. i like to type in values,

but i don´t get it to fill in the right field and have the feeling, that the colors switch. any advice to understand

the system?

You do have those colours right, and they never switch. So Y is always green, but doesn't always have to be the axis pointing upwards.


And you need to be aware that sometimes you are using the modelling axis (when in component modes for example), which can be different to the object axis which you are using when in Object mode. Also if you have nested hierarchies going on in the Object Manager, or transforms applied to either axes or objects or nulls, then you might find yourself losing track of which way is up and what axis you are looking at. 


So to work out what is going on, look at 


a) What is selected in the OM (you will always be shown the axis of what is selected now)

b) Which mode you are in


I find it helps to have the world axis displayed in the HUD (filter menu) so I can see how the current axis relates to it at a glance...
