Friendly Shade- Bundle 2 is out!

Recommended Posts

If you haven't heard of Friendly Shade, you're in for a treat!  These are the best 3D textures / materials I've seen available on the web.  Each one is photogrammetry-based and extremely detailed.  They just released a new bundle and I thought I'd share:

Very cool, thank you for sharing! I've heard of Real Displacement Textures but not Friendly Shade. Will definitely check them out!

  • I hadn't heard of that one!  There's also Quixel Megascans, of course: https://quixel.com/megascans

Megascans is more nature, Friendly Shade is more man-made stuff.

And if you're looking for food: https://www.blankrepository.com/

Cool, thanks. I'm familiar with Quixel Megascans but have not heard of blankrepository (I now have it bookmarked!). I don't usually work with food items but it looks to be a great resource nonetheless.

thanks for sharing... the problem i have with bundles like that is that you almost never have use for more than a couple in that bundle. most times when i'm in need of textures im in need of a very specific one. so i actually prefer to buy them one by one when i need them. but looking at their single texture pricing i think i prefer other sources, like poliigon or textures.com, which are much cheaper. but the quality is really superb i have to admit, definitely gonna bookmark it...

Yeah, I get that.  To be honest, I haven't bought the pack myself since I don't have a current use for it.  I just wanted to share some quality stuff if other people were in the market.

Quoted for Agreement.  I'm also a big fan of ExtremeTextures.com.  I would buy the Friendly shade stuff if I needed it for a specific client job and could bill it back to that.  Poliigon gets me about 85% there on most jobs.  Their quality isn't up to this standard, but speed and convenience (load all channels via the plug in) is killer.
