Hi. Looking to build a casino entrance which will have the casino lights flashing on and off. Has anybody got any nice tutorials that can help me out?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Cafe :)

Pls try and post in the right section. I have moved this to Lighting etc for you.

How many of the lights do you need, what patterns should they be arranged in, and how should they flash ? All together, or in specific patterns ? If so, what patterns ! What type of lights are they - coloured or just white ? Mixed groups of both ? We really need as much detail as you can give us so we can help most effectively. Some photo reference can often speak more than 1000 words !

If you know Python, you can generate interesting patterns. In this file I rotate four mats to give a moving light effect

  • Thanks Jed for that. Yeah that's what I need. Is there a tutorial to break down how your file works? I have never used Python before.

    Much appreciated.

    I've done a breakdown -

I changed the code a bit - there's now an 'else'.
