How to Model this Paper Effect

hey guys,

 

anyone knows an online tutorial how to model posters that are glued on the wall with this crumbling effect? i wanna do something similar but couldn't find any tutorial.

This is quite difficult to do in Cinema, as we don't have any simulations that give this sort of effect. I'd say your best bet was to get a plane, give it exactly square segments, then put a sculpt tag on it, increase SD level to around 6 or 7, and start pulling out those creases with the pull and (inverse) knife tools from the sculpting brushes, or do it with textures.

Would maybe a custom bump map do this, like striped down the document run through motion blur in Photoshop?

 

 

Basic example, just need the right kind of map.

Using the parallax bump feature you can get fairly close and it will still look good I have found.
