Those are issues, along with many others, we are well aware of and are actively working on. They are not being ignored.
The problem with the lack of performance in complex scenes is one of the biggest issues ever....
we are on it.

Yes I am also very happy about the new way MAXON is communicating about the technical side of things via Forum. So thanks for that.

I am quite shure that srek understands the emotions that come with a such price increase in 3 Years for perpetual MSA customers.

BTW. I never saw a real difference between 0.5 updates and 1 updates.

But as the new activation, that is the base for subscription is a no feature for many and 4K support is considered something overdue. I understand why people are disappointed by this release. But of course this features where a lot of work, too.

best regards

As a non-programmer artist I won't pretend to understand what is involved in adding new features, and while I have my own wish list of what I want improved, I know that everyone who uses C4d has their own as you stated. On it it's own I love the idea of the subscription model, I just wish I hadn't purchased studio for the first time earlier this year because I am getting screwed hardcore for not waiting 6 months, and as a small time freelancer that is devastating. I used to use 3ds max where I had to buy several plugins to get everything I needed (liquids, smoke, renderer, etc.) although that has changed quite a bit since I left. Cinema 4d seems to be going down this same road which makes me cringe. There are also some basic areas Cinema 4d lacks compared to other major 3d packages (modeling, UV's, Viewport, etc.) and I hope these areas will be addressed soon. I love cinema 4d for many reasons (Mograph, Animation, Sculpting, Takes, etc.) but having to wait extended periods of time for features that other packages have, and continue to improve upon will eventually make it harder to stay. R21 itself has plenty of small quality of life improvements that I look forward to using on a daily basis. The same was true for R20. At some point though, other 3d packages might become worth the gamble if Cinema 4d can't keep up or even gain ground. Personally, I hope that isn't the case as I have gone from Maya to 3ds max and now Cinema 4d. Ultimately I will use the best tool for the job, and while that is currently Cinema 4d for what I do, that could quickly change.

Same sentiment. Had I known about the subscription before hand I wouldn't have bought my own copy. I would have wait for 6 months. In retrospect, the $3500 in subscription is a lot more than the $3500 of perpetual. The 20% subscription discount for 1 to 2 years is really pitiful. Its not really an "exclusive resources".
If you think about it, exchanging the perpetual license with the costs being amortized for the subscription doesn't cost them anything.

At face value, that was just bad faith, which I don't get.

Yes, I really empathise with this. You must feel quite gutted. From my understanding of the new subscription model (which I'm personally not against in any way, shape or form), your initial investment of $3500 or whatever it was is now worthless; I guess the same is true for all of us who bought Studio. That's not too bad for someone like myself who bought Studio over 10 years ago; but 6 months ago…, well, that's quite a bitter pill to swallow. I would've imagined that those such as yourself would receive a very lengthy discounted subscription period.
