subdivide mess up my UV texture

Recommended Posts

Hello! See the images please..

If I use subdivide command on selected polygons, I get those dirt looking dark errors on the surface of my microscope..

These come from the diffuse texture, with corona render. How can I avoid this if I want to subdivide my polys?

  • I tried hypernurbs. They look a bit better!

You need to show us the base object wireframe for questions like this - without it we are clueless as to the mesh structure, so can't tell if this is a modelling issue or a texturing one...

  • I photoshopped the dirt away. Solved! So hypernurbs was better.

That's at best  a non-sequitur, and if I suspect what is the case truly is, then it is flat out wrong ! 'I bodged it in post' is never going to be the ideal solution 😉

I suspect the moral of this story is actually 'don't use SDS on triangulated meshes', but I can't be sure because I can't see the wires.
