Symmetry without a seam? (R17)

Recommended Posts

I'd like to model some symmetrical subd characters, but I'd like to do so without a seam along the center line.

What's the best way to approach this, in R17?

I'm not sure MagicSymmetry has any advantages over regular symmetry from R17 up, where our own tool was updated to include the options Delete New Polys on / Clamp to Centre Line options, which addresses all the problems MS was designed to solve.

By its very nature all Symmetry must include a centre line, so not sure what you mean by 'without a seam'...

use modeling in symmetry without welding, keep offset as large as polygon width in the row and at the end stitch and sew border edge loops with Shift...
