SPHERE SHAPED PUZZLE

Recommended Posts

From source image it looks like 4 middle horizontal rows are simply deformed by spherify deformer and top/bottom caps are added manually

With lower values it looks very clearly...

...it is not all the time about polygons and SDS... 🙂 (especially if you need to keep parametric as posible)

Yep, if OP is happy with that, then that method, combined with the square form puzzle pieces kindly uploaded by @contrafibbularities is probably the best and easiest way to start this I would have thought...

Good. This is almost what I need.

I am fluent in vector graphics and i can draw two parts of sphere for connect them later. But why are the pieces not stretched evenly? This method is not suitable? Can I go this way?

    Sorry if it strange question.

Not like that using spherize, which is not designed to work with flat surfaces. Use wrap deformer on a square profile instead to make it cover half sphere, and then maybe use symmetry to get other side ?

None of these things will give you perfect even meshing everywhere like in your reference, but I am currently not seeing any way of doing this other than manually creating the top caps.
