Symmetrize point position

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'm looking for a way to symetrize the point positions of a mesh.

I'm modeling a mouth open and want to make sure it is symmetric but I cant change the point order because I'll be using a pose morph.

I remember having a script for this in Maya.

Tks

If you use the sculpting tools to model your morphs you can use their built in symmetry.  Otherwise it'll be a lot of tedious work keeping symmetry AND point orders.

Hi

This is one massive area in C4D that is lacking badly.  There is a resymmetry tool in sculpting tool set that can try to fix symmetry, if you get no luck with that I can run ti through Zbrush which can fix it.

  • Hey Dan, thanks for your help, that's exactly what I needed. I had seen that icon there but had never tried to press it 😄

Good info, but nothing native to C4D?   I'm imagining a "command" type tool, with a threshold distance, that would iterate through the points.
