LW-like "Drag" tool / falloff issues

Recommended Posts

R17:  is there a Lightwave like "Drag" tool that pretty much moves just ONE of the selected points?  Even using an appropriate distance and the "needle" falloff, I can't restrict the movement of vertices to just the currently selected ones, usine MOVE (with falloff), and I want them Selected because it's easier to see them in an axis view.

There is no need to keep putting  'R17' in your post titles - it is extraneous information given that it's in your profile and the character limit means you have to abbreviate keywords, which means your posts won't show when later searched for those keywords. This post could more usefully be called 'Move one point despite Soft Selection ?' for example.

You are asking the impossible. You have activated Soft Selection, thereby effectively telling Cinema you want to affect other points as well. If you then want to move a single point, you have to turn that off. I can't see any way round that. Maybe someone else can...

  • OK, here's the behavior I'm looking for: a selected set of points, but a tool that lets me tweek just one at a time of that selection and only that selection.

The R17 was to forestall those telling me about how "of course R21 does that!", which gets even more tedious as I separate the wheat from the chaff.

Well the brush tool with a low radius in smear mode will do that...
