Strange Texture Distortion Phenomenon

I am trying to animate a bubble gum blowing up. Does anyone know why the texture has a strange distortion phenomenon if I use Cloth tag? I used Cloth tag, Cloth collider and Arnold Render. Please advise.. Thanks so much!

you could try sphere mapping instead of UV mapping

Uploading a scene file should help us figure out what is going on, but like Jops mentioned, probably UV issue!

    The animation is starting from a disk shape. So...Sphere mapping doesn't work.

    Maybe better will be to use different mesh topology...

    (rendered with standard render because I don´t own Arnold. Just fast example,adjust scene as you need)

    How did you make the disk shape with the different mesh topology?

    only what is different is deleting bottom half of sphere...
