Cloth points follow a spline

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I'm trying to recreate this tutorial in C4D but with no luck. I need a group of cloth points to follow a curved spline.
I tried Spline Wrap but it just wraps a separately simulated cloth without physical accuracy.
I tried attaching multiple Cloth belts to points but it's a total nightmare to set up

That's entirely understandable, because we simply don't have that functionality in Cinema for cloth. Not all 3D software is the same, and Cinema's cloth system can't be used like this unless you have R21 or above where Field Forces might make it possible.

We can do something similar in a totally different way, but it won't be physically accurate.

Haha Lols - it can happen 🙂 Always nice to be corrected when it's good news. Thanks @noseman

Funny enough, the slightly more complex nature of setting up our cloth compared to the simpler of Blender, actually allows us more control for setups like these. And let's not forget that this Cloth system, was developed nearly 20 years ago!!!

I love being wrong in that way too... although it never really happens 🙂
