Motion Clip - Pre Clip Not Holding

Recommended Posts

Hi all, this is my first post here.  I hope this is the correct sub-forum for this topic.

I successfully created a motion clip of some transform animations.  When I scrub the timeline or play the animation it does not hold the first keys of the clip before the clip starts.  The clip itself plays fine but pre-clip it is erratic and looks almost like a simulation that didn't cache.  Rendering on a farm also exhibits similar behavior, where it's holding at a different position/time from the start of the clip.  I should also mention that I did a Flip Horizontal command on the clip's timing curve to reverse the original motion.

The only work around I found is to create a clip with a longer pad at the start and end of the animation, but that is not ideal because there is empty animation space that makes it harder to precisely slide and scale the clip as needed.

Am I missing something simple here?  Does the timing curve need some type of key handle interpolation pre and post clip?

Thanks,

-Brian

  • Thanks for the reply, Dan.  I wish I could post it, but it is as of yet un-aired property that I can't share.

Can you most up an example scene that shows the issue?
