Little help animating color change

Recommended Posts

I need to animate a color change on a complicated object. It needs to go from blue to red, from the top to the bottom. I tried key framing a gradient, but because it's a complicated object, it doesn't work well. I also tried to put two textures on the object and animating the position of the top one. It works well, but I need a gradient between the colours, not a straight line. Any idea?

I´m not at my pc now, but I think simple vertical gradient adjusted in flat projection and animated texture movement in vertical direction must work...

Ofcourse, for gradient set some soft transition...

Hi, I am not sure if this is the smartest solution, but what i did is ; i have selected the lower pipes of the top section and applied

one gradient and then selected the higher section and applied gradient to that. there is still on pipe in between that needs

to be selected and textured.

here is the file:

Thanks Bezo.  I thought there may have been another solution but it looks like this is the best method.
