Inner Extrude From An Edge

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys, I was watching a guy work in blender and saw a really useful option they have for their inner extrude (they call it inset).  They are able to use their inner extrude but leave one edge, which instantly creates a door.  I have to do this all the time and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do this in C4D? I've attached and example of a normal inner extrude in blender and and inner extrude leaving one edge.

Currently I inner extrude, cut new edges, then stitch and sew to achieve the same result.

Thanks

No we don't have a direct equivalent of that, unless you count 'across a symmetry line' which we can do. Otherwise, for this we would have to do all 4 edges, and then change one back, as you have been doing, or just use the knife tool instead to cut it in directly.

...and what about using edge slide command in clone mode? 😉

(path selection or conversion poly2edges and removed unwanted edge)
