R21 extrude bevels without caps?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

in old versions of C4d you can generate bevels on extrude nurbs but choose "non" for the caps. So that it generates the roundings, but not the surface plain.

I can not find how to achive this in R21.

Am I just overlooking something?

best regards

Jops

Yes you are overlooking a whole tab called Caps, in which the first option is to remove one or both of them !!

    Thanks for your response.

I am well aware of this tab and its interface, but I am not aware of a setting that would let me get something like this:

in R19 it is no problem to set it up acordingly.

Oh I see. No that is not possible any more via this method, as you cannot have bevels without caps.

You could maybe make this via a sweep instead ?

  • Thanks for confirmation,

jup... that is what I am doing right now, but unfortunately it is quite a workaround in my case.

I would really love MAXON to take care, that they do not loose functinability when overhauling a tool. That makes paying for an update really feel bad. And in this case I am quite shure, that it is no "limitation" they just didn't think about it, or considered it to be no importat feature.

    best regards
