Welter's Atmosphere

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm working on an Earth from space project and Welter's atmosphere plugin looks like it could help - http://www.welter-4d.de/fplugs/freeplugins_en.html#atmosphereshader

When I open the zip I get a folder with xlib and xdl64 files and subfolder a .h file and bunch of other bits. Does anybody have any idea how I can install these files?

I'm running R21 on OS High Sierra

Usually, you extract the content of the zip file into your plugins folder.

Since R21 no default plugins folder is provided anymore, so feel free to create one, or unzip anywhere. Make sure to add the path to the folder in your Cinema 4D preferences.

This is an old plugin based on COFFEE i believe, so you would need special bridge files from Insydium. But even that doesn't help in many cases..

I feared that might be the case but can't understand why it's listed as Atmosphere_R20_2019-01-10.zip. That would imply it was updated recently...

If it is COFFEE than it won't work even with the bridge. The bridge was only meant for regular C++ plugins (as far as I know).

If it was updated recently it might have been ported from COFFEE to Python, as COFFEE support was dropped in R20 and up.

But as you mention that it contains xlib and xdl64 files ... these are compiled C++ plugins. But if these are R20 compatible, then they will not work for R21.
