Aligning Objects in a Row Randomly

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm trying to create a wood floor made up of 4 or 5 different lengths.  The plugins I've seen don't allow for random lengths (Floor Generator by C4DZone and the Floor Generator Script by Josef Barrah).  I was hoping to create the entire floor in Mograph; however, I can't figure out a way to get the different lengths to touch "end to end".  It seems C4D uses the object axis center and I need it to recognize the bounding box.  Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?  I have tried spline wrap and the arrange command with no luck too.  Thanks, Kevin

This has been asked and answered before on the cafe, but my search terms aren't finding it now, so perhaps easier to just use this ?

Actually it has been asked and answered in parallel on CGTalk, maybe you're thinking of that thread:
